kaolin localities in egypt

Index Terms IJSER

The Sedimentary kaolin deposits of Egypt are Cretaceous or Carboniferous deposits. The lower Cretaceous deposits occur in the Sinai, Red Sea and Aswan regions, while the Carbonif- erous deposits are present only in Sinai area. Based on the possible proveniences of these deposits, they can be classified into two groups.

Upgrading Egyptian Kaolin using Carrier Flotation

Kaolin is present in Egypt in many localities but it is of low grade. Beneficiation of Egyptian kaolin, by attrition scrubbing and classification by multi-cycloning for application in paper and ceramics proved its technical viability. However, the still higher anatase (TiO2) content of such produced concentrates hindered their application in fine ceramics or in paper coating .
